Short version: we keep the little we need to run your account, we never sell it, and we delete it when you ask.

Who we are

coldRANGE makes dry-fire laser targets and runs getcoldrange.com, where you can create an account. coldRANGE is designed and assembled in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Questions about your data: hello@getcoldrange.com.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and the display name you choose.
• Your password, hashed: we store a one-way hash (argon2), never the password itself. We can't see or recover it.
• Account dates: when you signed up, verified your email and last logged in.
• Server logs: our web server records IP addresses, pages requested and browser type to keep the service secure and working. These logs are deleted after about 14 days.

Synced training data

Your sessions are always saved on your own hub. If you link a hub to your getcoldrange.com account ("Add hub" under My training), the hub also uploads each finished session so you can see your history and stats anywhere:

• Sessions: the drill, its name and notes, when it started and ended, its settings, results, summary, total hits and score, and hit-by-hit detail (time, split, target, ring and sensor readings) when the hub still has it.
• Hubs: the name you give it, its firmware version and board type, its network (MAC) address, when it last checked in, the internet address it connects from, its address on your home WiFi, and how many sessions are waiting to upload.
• The hub's access key: we keep only a one-way hash of it. Removing a hub on getcoldrange.com stops it uploading straight away; sessions it already uploaded stay in your history until you delete your account.

Training data is used only to show you your own history and stats. It isn't shared with other users, sold, or used for advertising. Deleting your account deletes your hubs and all synced sessions.

Email

Account emails are about your account only: confirming your address, password resets and notices about account changes. They're sent through Amazon Simple Email Service. We won't send you marketing email unless you join the launch email list below.

If an email we send to an address bounces permanently, or is reported as spam, Amazon tells us and we stop emailing that address for good, so we never keep mailing someone who doesn't want it. For that we keep a one-way hash of the address (not the address itself), the reason and the date. The hash stays after you delete your account, because its only job is to keep us from emailing that address again. If you want email from us again at an address we've stopped, write to hello@getcoldrange.com.

Launch email list

If you enter your email in the "Get an email when online orders open" form on getcoldrange.com:

• What we keep: your email address, which form you used, and when you signed up, confirmed and (if you do) unsubscribed. Nothing else, and no account is created.
• Confirmation first: we send one email asking you to confirm. If you don't click the link, you won't get anything else from us.
• What we send: once confirmed, an email when online orders open, and occasional coldRANGE launch news.
• Unsubscribe anytime: every email has an unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe we keep only a note that you did, so we never email you again; ask us at hello@getcoldrange.com and we'll delete the address completely.
• Sending: we may use an email service (such as a newsletter tool) to send these emails. It gets only the addresses of confirmed subscribers and uses them only to send our emails.

Cookies

getcoldrange.com uses one cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and our pages don't load trackers or third-party fonts.

We don't sell your data

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run coldRANGE for us (Amazon Web Services hosts our servers and sends our email, in the United States; for the launch email list, possibly an email service as described above) or when the law requires it.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page on getcoldrange.com, or by emailing hello@getcoldrange.com. When you delete your account, we remove your email address, display name and password hash, and delete your linked hubs and synced training sessions, right away. Copies in our nightly backups, which are kept on the same locked-down server, expire within 14 days.

To leave the launch email list, use the unsubscribe link in any of its emails, or email us to have your address deleted entirely.

You can also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.

Keeping it safe

Connections to our sites are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, the database is only reachable from our own server, and access is limited to the people who run coldRANGE.

Age

coldRANGE accounts are for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date below, and email account holders about significant changes.
